Responsible for activities regarding design, construction,
modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery in
manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense
objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and
equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering
principles and safety regulations. Also responsible for electrical
work, troubleshooting and programming activities regarding design,
construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and
machinery in manufacturing throughout for inventory and operating
expense objectives are achieved. Duties/Responsibilities: Adhere to
plant safety requirements as established by company policy.
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment
and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary
corrections and run adjustments to maintain maximum production and
quality. Assists in the development and training of maintenance
personnel in the area of controls systems. Assists in the planning
of updates, modifications, and continuous improvement of the
existing controls system including robotic programs, ladder logic
programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls,
operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and
control. Check maintenance technicians' work and assist during
assembly. Design and develop software applications based on
specifications of new concepts. Develop electrical bill of
materials. Diagnose and identify various types of hydraulic
fittings and repair/replace as needed. Documents equipment
breakdown/activity and provides reports as requested. Uses reports
to analyze opportunities for improvement. Ensure quality and
production standards are maintained in a process-driven
environment. Ensures and maintains proper controls documentation,
including updates during life cycle (electrical, hydraulic and
pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display,
operator interface, robot programs, and machine power
distribution). Ensures compliance with national Electrical Code and
OSHA standards. Ensures timely and accurate recording of completion
of maintenance activities, including utilizing computerized
maintenance management programs; maintains detailed record keeping
in support of maintenance management system. Help establish and
maintain policies and practices including maintaining equipment
specification standards. Installs and maintains plant floor machine
controls. Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical
requirements. Involved in the recruitment/training/orientation of
new employees. Lead and complete complex projects. Maintains
knowledge of all safety devices, procedures and MIOSHA regulatory
requirements regarding machinery to identify and communicate all
potential safety issues in an effort to eliminate all avoidable
risks. Make and replace high pressure lines, including bending and
threading. Make hydraulic and chemical hoses using hydraulic
crimping tool. Must maintain positive communications among other
coworkers in/on shifts and departments. Notifies supervisor of
recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken,
quality problems, and supplies needed. Other assignments and
responsibilities as required to support organizational and team
objectives. Participates in equipment/tooling reviews and works
with engineers and vendors to ensure proper implementation of
features. Perform tool changes in a timely manner. Performs
preventive maintenance on equipment that is not scheduled for
manufacturing to reduce downtime. Power up electrical systems and
configure hardware per application specifications. Propose upgrades
or solutions to maintenance issues. Provide production support.
Provide timely and detailed status updates, as required. Provides
technical support for controls systems during the introduction of
new equipment. Required to adhere to all Environmental Health and
Safety Regulations. Required to adhere to applicable IATF and ISO
14001 requirements. Required to adhere to applicable QS9000/TS16949
requirements. Required to adhere to plant safety and Environmental
Management System (EMS) requirements as established by company
policy and/or OSHA. Schedules and completes back-ups of electronic
machine control and robotic programs. Supports engineering in the
development of standards and specifications related to controls
systems. Technical writing including Software Documentation, Manual
including Troubleshooting Guide, Spare Parts List with Vendor
Parts. Tests newly installed or refurbished machines and equipment
to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety. Train and
develop lower-level maintenance employees. Troubleshoot issues with
company equipment. Understand requirements for HMI/communications
interface and networking, and create specifications based on the
requirements. Will be required to work necessary overtime as
applicable on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Work with equipment vendors
and machine builders and integration. Work with
management/engineers to provide input with quote preparation as

and writing skills. Qualifications: High school graduate, with
technical school degree or equivalent of training or experience
required. Journeyman Electrician license preferred. Master
Electrician license or equivalent. Minimum four years of
maintenance experience in the automotive industry. Three to five
years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in automotive
interior and systems. Proficient computer skills, including MS
Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Proficient in programming logic
controllers (PLC), Allen-Bradley and Siemens. Proficient with Servo
drive reading and understanding (electrical, hydraulic)
Self-starter, team player, works well with others and has a
positive attitude. Strong all-around welding skills (MIG, TIG,
Arc). Experience in RSLOGIX, Siemens, various robotic knowledge.
Experience with Robot programming – ABB, Fanuc, Motoman. Experience
with Vision Systems programming desired – Keyence and SICK.
Experienced in configuring and designing HMI systems –
Allen-Bradley and PC. Ability to make decisions independently or
within a group setting. Ability to understand, identify, and use
hydraulic crimping devices. Able to design and build a small
machine from ground up. Able to prioritize, multi-task and meet
deadlines. Advanced troubleshooting skill and mechanical aptitude.
Comfortable using hand power tools. Complete understanding of all
press lines and processes; be able to successfully operate all
machinery. Creative thinker, results-oriented, focused and
attentive to detail. Dedicated, responsive and innovative problem
solver. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good
attendance, punctuality and dependability. Good attention to detail
required. May be required to stand for long periods of time.
Position involves bending, stooping, lifting. Must be able to read
and comprehend work instructions Must be able to work in a confined
space, and at heights. Must be capable of effectively communicating
with all levels of the workforce. Must be capable of interfacing
with all levels of the workforce. Must possess physical and mental
stamina. Must possess solid understanding of hydraulics,
pneumatics, mechanical and electrical. Organized, detail-oriented,
