Job Description:
-- :The Database Administrator II (DBA) is a key resource in
providing technical leadership and support on all the stages of
database architecture, implementation and database-related
operational support.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Installation and configuration of new databases instances when
necessary, and conducting upgrades and patch applications when
appropriate
- Design, implement and maintain database security based on
company policy, best practices and any regulatory requirements
- Provide solutions to development teams when proposed
architecture does not comply with architectural, performance or
security guidelines
- Resolve database performance issues using all available tools
and take corrective actions when necessary
- Work with the development teams to ensure a solid understanding
of the application and database requirements exist and configure
database structures and parameters accordingly
- Communicate to business customers, technical teams and
management in a consistent manner making complex technical issues
and solutions clear, simple and understandable
- Possess overall understanding of IT architecture,
infrastructure standards, database platforms and programming
languages and tools
- Go-to technical resource as it relates to database physical
data storage, maintenance and security
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Data Management
philosophies and apply them to existing and to-be
architectures
- Ability to produce clear documentation around reoccurring
processes
- Forward thinking, proactive approach to monitoring all
databases
- Ability to provide accurate resource and capacity planning
- Manage backup and disaster recovery plans for all databasesWHAT
WE NEED FROM YOU:Required:
- 2-4 years of experience in relational database development that
includes the development of views, triggers, and stored procedures
from scratch
- Strong SQL query, ETL and data architecture experience
- Comfortable performing code / design reviews and providing
constructive feedback
- Problem solving mentality
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to multitask and adapt
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Onsite, full-time attendancePreferred:
- Computer related degree or equivalent
- Data streaming experience
- Mortgage or financial services industry experience
- Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise exposure
- Experience developing within a data warehouse environment
- Performed data modeling and / or experience working with data
models
