Job Description:
**General Purpose of Position:**
Coordinate operations at the Secondary Tryout Facilities and
Secondary Tryout processes. Work required is of the technical
nature involving the coordination of a number of organizations,
suppliers, plants and personnel. Work requires a great deal of
creativity and strong technical leadership skills and decision
making capabilities. Work performed involves a high level of
independent judgment. Responsible for implementing new plans and/or
policies, programs and procedures in a highly technical and
specialized area. Shift work may be required.
**Major Duties and Responsibilities:**
Maintains safety standards
Supervise hourly team dedicated to support Secondary Tryout
Operations.
Monitor and coach all items relating to the Secondary Tryout
process
Provide on-site T-Event support
Communicates with shop launch support
Communicates with feedback and feed forward emphasis
Controls progress of projects with attention to schedules and
downtime
Complies with terms of local and national labor agreements of the
Parma facility
**Other Duties**
Scheduling coil and rack delivery
Die Shop support scheduling on floor and timing
Blue light scheduling
Ensures the quality level of parts run for tryout and MRD's matches
PAR White status
Start of shift team meeting and absenteeism - cross shift meetings
and communication
Communication with ME resident and Plant Launch Manager
Scheduling of out bound dies and fixture
Scheduling of MRD material out bound / launch manager
Maximo interface plant resource
Coordinate steel buy for Flint/Pontiac
T-event documentation / TMaCS
GMTKS
QAB/EWO communication
**Skills and Abilities:**
Knowledge of production and equipment technology for products
involved
In depth knowledge of secondary and primary tryout events and
processes
In depth knowledge of stamping press types, automation and
simulations
In depth understanding of weld tool systems, checking fixtures and
ETACS
Understanding of Design and Build team structure and process
Broad knowledge of tool and die, die to press interface issues and
stamping critical success factors
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others,
motivate employees and elicit work output
High level of Oral and written communications skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and
difficult
Knowledge of TMaCS
Knowledge of Sharepoint and ITP
Knowledge of QAB process
Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts
Strong knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Knowledge of Quality Control procedures and processes
**Education and/ or Training:**
College education or equivalent training, plus training such as
that acquired through the completion of skilled trades program
leading to journeyman status in tool and die trade. Engineering
degree preferred.
Completion of recommended Corporate training programs
