HR Associate

Serve as a contact between Leadership and the rest of the organization. Provide administrative support to help with recruitment, retention, onboarding, benefits administration, and record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain strong working knowledge of Habitat for Humanity Oakland County policies.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records and information.
Establish good business relationships with all employees, management and other departments.
Conduct or assist with new hire orientations and onboarding.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Maintain all applications, resumes, and inquiries with regard to any open positions.
Contact job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
Assist new employees with online forms in the Paychex Flex system.
Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level staff or management.
Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves.
Convert physical files to digital.
Place employment ads when needed utilizing various resources.
Special projects and other duties, as requested.
Human Resources Associate Requirements

Associate or Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
Previous Human Resources experience in the personnel field preferred
General knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Commitment to Habitat's housing ministry goals.
Ability to work independently with self-directed priorities and work as part of a team.
Ability to relate to people of different races, faiths, and income levels.
Excellent telephone and communication etiquette.
Ability to multi-task, with excellent time management skills and follow through.
Ability to work with volunteers, board members, staff, committees, homeowners and general public.

This role is designed to progress into a full-time HR position.
