Job Description:

As a member of the Information Security team, the Application Security Architect will provide leadership on matters relating to Application Security and will guide and provide our partners with the expertise needed to grow the business. This role will foster a culture of continuous delivery through performant, resilient and secure solutions. A grasp of application security principles and practices as well as experience working in an enterprise development environment are required.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

* Build strong working relationships with our enterprise technology, application development, quality assurance and deployment teams
* Maintain documentation related to application security including the maturity of secure coding policies, procedures and standards, and the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) to include necessary security checkpoints and code review methodologies
* Implement and manage training programs to train developers on secure code development practices
* Mentor team members to better understand application security disciplines
* Attend design and application architectural reviews and actively lead discussions from a security standpoint
* Determine application security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements
* Plan, coordinate, and lead teams through the design, integration, development, validation and implementation of specific security policies, systems and services
* Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy
* Identify and communicate current and emerging application security threats
* Create solutions that balance business requirements with information security requirements
* Identify application security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

* Strong level of software development experience
* A strong passion for information security
* Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework
* Strong leadership skills including experience in developing, documenting and establishing application security programs and best practices
* Understanding of application threat modelling and SDL security practices
* Experience with agile software development methods
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
* Familiarity with dynamic web application vulnerability scanning tools and services
* Familiarity with static code analysis tools and services
* Understand different application types and the unique security threats each presents

Nice to Have Qualifications:

* 3-5 years of software development experience
* Prior experience in an information security role
* Expertise in mitigating and addressing technology or application threat vectors
* Experience with Web Application Firewalls
